A custom Industrial IoT platform developed for a commercial poultry farm in Ireland to replace manual data collection with an automated, real-time monitoring system.
Built on a Waveshare 4.3-inch ESP32-S3 Touch LCD, the system continuously monitors environmental conditions, electricity usage, water consumption, and production data through a single, easy-to-use touchscreen interface. Operators can view live readings, daily statistics, utility meters, and historical trends while the system automatically stores records locally and synchronizes them with the cloud.
Designed for reliability, the platform features crash-safe SD card logging, automatic recovery after power loss, a built-in Wi-Fi dashboard for remote monitoring, and Google Sheets synchronization with offline retry support to ensure no data is lost during network interruptions.
The system also streamlines daily farm operations with digital record forms for mortality, litter, ventilation, and feed management, along with automatic calculations and alerts that eliminate repetitive manual data entry.
